Hi Caroline,

As explained via email, untick the box called “test all panel formats” in the optimisation parameters. This forces Optinest to follow the panel priorities under the condition that the parts fit on the smaller panel.

Hi Caroline,

You are talking about 2 different things

Firstly, the priority in the panel stock allows you to define which panels should be used first.

Secondly, the priority of panels to be machined is used to sort the parts from each other.

Case 1 : 2 Panels format – All parts with same priorities

OptiNest Used panel according Priority of panel stock

Case1.pngImage Enlarger

Case 2a : 1 Panels format  – Top & Side Priority “1”, Side Priority “2”

and depending on your optimisation “Priority Management”

case-2-0.pngImage Enlarger

At 0 OptiNest is authorised to mix parts with different priorities on the same panel.
case-2-0a.pngImage Enlarger

To simplify at 1 and 2 OptiNest adds parts in order of priority 1,2,…..If a part with a lower priority cannot be placed

At 3 OptiNest is not authorised to mix parts with different priorities on the same panel.

(This most used to sort parts with turn around, like Vertical division)

Naturally, the parts must fit within the specified format, height and width, as well as any other constraints related to the direction of the grain that would prevent the parts from rotating.

Please upload file may I miss something,

Cheers, Alex
