Polyboard part numbers|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER
Hi Michel
Sometimes I like to perform a parts/parts dxf import for some cabinets.
When I do this, optinest gets a basic part. the toolings are there and when it is finally exported to VCarve it will have the correct layer names (including layer 1 or 2 depending upon which side the tooling are on), but on optinest, there is no tooling side allocated or grain direction in the case of a grained board. There is also no additional information, name of the part, number, or anything.
All this comes in when I do an automatic export from polyboard to optinest.
Sometimes, I just want to add a miscut panel from a previous job, and rather than auto exporting the whole cabinet or project again, I just like to select the relevant panel and add it to the optinest sheet. This way the offcut allocation is correct and the printouts are aligned.
Does the automatic export send different information direct from polyboard and when I do a dxf import from inside optinest, less information is sent?

Hi Mark,
The transfer of the face information in the layer name is done via automatic and manual DXF import
The CNC file suffix (synchronisation with a PP) is only done via the automatic transfer as this information does not get into the DXF layers.
Can you tell me if you ask about face information or CNC file information and what is your setup?

Michel
Hi Michel
It sorted itself out on its own!
Although, another question.
When I export from polyboard to optinest (automatically) it sends the correct layers. i.e it sends the 1 or 2 suffixes for two sided.
But if I go to ‘parts, parts DXF import and bring the parts in manually, they do not have the payer suffix for two-sided. They will only have the suffix 1, even if it should be 2.
It’s probably a setting in the import settings, but I cannot find it?
Any ideas

Hi Mark
what number are you referring to?
regards
Michel
Hi all
I saw on the newest version of Optinest that there is now the option to have the Polyboard number on the label which is a great improvement.
However, how to I get the polyboard part number to export with the optinest export.
The field is on optinest, but the part number does not seem to export over with the post-processor export.
Thanks
