Hi John,

Sorry we don't have a written user guide in English. We have replaced the manual with training videos and this forum. so feel free to ask your questions and post your projects here.

I've amended your cabinet project and added "french cleat" to the back by modifying the back panel.

The cleat is actually the back panel set up from the  bottom and divided into 2.

You can't cut the boards at 45° so depending on how you are planning to cut the cleat you might like it to be represented as just one board that you can rip on a table saw.

In this case select it and go to the Structure>Surface split  properties and delete the surface split.

I've also added an upper reinforcement between the back and the cleat using a "shelf" element set to 0 from the top.

This will enable you to screw the upper cleat to the cabinet.

Of course these elements are not visible so their total length can be made of shorter parts.

Otherwise your project looks good.

All the best,

Ness

Hi Ness,

Thank you for the file modifications.

I am using Polyboard 4.06g When I try to open your modified returned file I get a message of (Unexpected File Format) confused

Best regards,

Joe

Hi Everyone,
My name is Joe, I am in the process of constructing a simple design of a floating entertainment center that will mount flush to the wall. As like others I first drafted the design on graph paper, but in order to show the design to my wife I hunted for software that would enable me to present it in 3D. That's when I found a wonderful program to help me do this called "Polyboard IV". I found it quite easy to navigate through the menus (even without a user guide, which I could only find on the web in French or Spanish). My French and Spanish is limited Is there a link to an English version ?
Herein lies my problem I need help to add a french cleat to the recessed back of the cabinet. Also how do I show overall dimensions of all panels simultaneously?
The cabinet will be constructed from 3/4" furniture grade plywood. All panels will be glued into place using dowels fixed to the 4 dividing uprights. In positioning the recessed back I first added a back then a double back, then removed the original back to create the recessed back. I don't know if this is the correct procedure but it worked ☺
. The recessed back is set in 2-1/4" to accommodate a 2" width power-bar on the bottom of the cabinet that will house the cables and service the electronic components via pass thru holes. The french cleat will be placed along the full length of the inside of the top of the recess the cabinet. It will be constructed of 3 lengths of 3/4" plywood with the last piece representing half of the french cleat cut at a 45 degree angle. The other half of the french cleat will be mounted to the wall. The cleat will similar as shown in the diagrams below.
I am new to Polyboard as of 2 days. I need help to incorporate this design into my cabinet drawing. Please see the attached file "Floating 2"

Any help would be much appreciated. Best regards, Joe
