There is 2 case,

First case with single door, It’s still very simple, just change the priority of the link to the top.

Second case, you have upright! this option are locked! 

But, now when you add news option when add frontage! “Applied local” , which means that only rooms in the area where the facade is added will be recessed.

Like in this example, Left side, Bottom, and Top, are part of the area where the door was added,
The side on the right reaches the same level as the door.

if you’re building a TV cabinet, for example, with several uprights

add Nil shelves on each zone at 0 mm from Top, then add frontage doors / drawers in “Applied mode”
