the left side is a cut stringer , the right side looks like a cut stringer but it is listed as ” right string board ” in the properties menu , 

it sits above the tread and protrudes in front of the riser , How is that done ?

this is one of your templates , the outside cut string board  is raised above the tread and beyond the riser , you have an offset of about 1″ ,  does that number  include the tread and riser overhang
