The idea is to create a similar reference point in order to offset the position.

This notch in the top of the stringboard so it sits on the landing.

Hi,

 

How can I make the landing step go 20mm over the landing and make a birds mouth at the end of the stringboards to sit on the landing?

Also for this drawing left stringboard #1 needed manually modifying so that it fits over the steps. How can i check that the top and bottom of the stringer are parallel? As there is no reference points. 

Drawing in question attached.
