I tried multiple ways to achieve this , in the end i did use 3 landings to make the 3 step winder ,
i was able to make a change in the length of the right side of the opening to 7′-5 13/16″ which gave me a run on each tread to 10″ i also dropped the number of treads to 9
this is working out better

Hi Duayne,
As stairdesigner is calculating in the European way we are not able to define the thread width as it gest calculated over the qty of steps and distance.
Also, the 3 steps winder is not a standard in this calculation. To achieve a 3 step winder the best way is to build up the flight with landing and edit the shape.
I have added a version that you can use to finish your project.
The only way to affect the tread width is to add or remove a step in the flight or change the length of the flight.

I have a set of stairs that i am trying to make work to a specific length , Here in Canada we are only allowed 3 winders in a flight of stairs , if i make adjustments to the winders , it automatically changes the straight run per tread to over 11″ , i need to make the straight run with a tread width of 10″ ,
if i change the straight flight so the treads = 10″ it messes up the winders . the problem seems to be the winding coefficient , the controls for them don’t seem to have any effect on the outcome , the walking line here in Canada is 12″ from the handrails , i can’t find a way to make that happen
how can i make this work .
included is my file
