~URGENT!!!~ requesting a team viewer session|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER

Hi Toby,
Please can you ask specific queries in their own forum thread so we can keep the subjects distinct. Could you also provide as much detail as you can about what you need to know.
I’ve provided some general comments on each of your points below, but it sounds to me like you might need some 1-2-1 training sessions, click here for more details:
https://wooddesigner.org/train…..g-service/
1-3. These are good videos on hardware libraries and methods:
https://wooddesigner.org/suppo…..-advanced/
https://wooddesigner.org/suppo…..libraries/
https://wooddesigner.org/suppo…..g-methods/
4. Can you be more specific, please start a new forum thread.
5. Could you explain what you need to know about the set up, do you mean what parameters to choose in the DXF post processor dialogue box? Again, please set up a new forum thread for this.
6. Could you explain what you need to know and in more detail please, again in a new forum thread.
7. Regular drillings, you can limit them to a zone in Polyboard but you cannot delete individual holes. But this feature isn’t really the best way to work if you have a CNC. Please start a new thread and I’ll ask one of my colleagues to answer in more detail if required.
Regarding the Polyboard upgrade, do you mean upgrading to the latest version of your current Polyboard e.g 6.04 to 6.05 for example? Please see Ness’s comments in this thread posted September 19th. Just go to the Polyboard download page, download the latest version and run it to install it over your current version.
We cannot retrospectively change your subscription sorry about that. If you’d like to change to the annual subscription, please cancel the monthly recurring payment in PayPal, then set up the new annual subcription on this page:
https://wooddesigner.org/support-plans/
As part of that process, make sure you re-register as an ‘existing subscriber’.
Thanks.
Hi Nes and Stefan,
Could you point me in the right direction to the following videos?
- Building hardware libraries (including rules).
- Building new methods.
- The best way to build my own quick libraries of furniture so that I can just pull up a cabinet and change the overall dimensions without losing the specific door and/or drawer heights.
- A video to understand the export options.
- as a followup how to export to autocad (I got Stefans instructions but I don’t know how to set it up)
- How to use cut lists.
- In the “Regular drillings ” option how do i delete just one hole?
I’m also slightly unsure about the whole polyboard upgrade so if you could send me step by step instructions that would be wonderful.
Lastly I was wondering if it were possible to retroactivly pay for the whole year from the time we started paying (I believe 2 months ago). I thought that is what we had set up but apparently the previous designer had it set up for the monthly option. If you could do that I would be very grateful.
Thank you!
Toby

Hi Toby, here’s a link to the Polyboard download page to update either Polyboard itself of the Quick Design libraries.
To export to AutoCAD or another CAD system, use Polyboard Pro PP’s DXF export (File > Post-Processor Export > DXF…) rather than the normal Biesse Post Processor. Then open the part by part DXF files in CAD for manipulation.
All the best, Stefan

Hello Toby,
Updating your Polyboard to 6.05c will not affect your libraries and export settings.
These are changed only if you run the Quick Design installation file or the “InstallQuickDesign-pro-en.bat” or the “QuickDesign-pro-en.reg” files in the Quick Design setup folder.
These files install the QuickDesign environment that includes post processors, libraries and panel names etc.
Running the Polyboard installer will not affect libraries, post processors, etc.
Running the Quick Design installer will over write the libraries in the polyboard-pro.en folder so if you want to update the Quick Design libraries, rename the original polyboard-pro.en folder before hand. The Quick Design installation will create a new poyboard-pro.en folder with the new libraries and you can then transfer elements form the new Quick Design libraries into your previous libraries by creating cabinets and using the “restore” function.
Note that the Quick Design installation only changes the active Polyboard libraries so it’s easy to simply repoint Polyboard to your old libraries using the Folders Parameters command.
If you run the Quick Design environment installation .bat file or the .reg file all the post processors, and panel names will be overwritten, so don’t do this before backing up these items.
I suggest that once you have the environment that suites you only update Polyboard and eventually only do a reinstall of the Quick Design Libraries and not the Quick Design environment.
Hope this is helpful,
All the best,
Ness
Hi Ness,
First of all I wanted to thank you very much for your assistance yesterday.
This morning I was I was able to restore all of the libraries quickly and correctly.
As a followup question to your reccomendation yesterday to upgrade to polyboard 605C I was wondering what steps to take prior to installing so that I do not lose my libraries and export settings?
I was also curious if the quick design libraries contain hardware libraries which we might find usefull.
Thank you and Happy Year (the jewish new year “Rosh Hashana” starts tomorrow night and ends on sunday).
