Hi,
– The upper strip remains limited to the top part, if side overpassing Top, it is necessary to make a groove towards the sides of the same thickness.
– For edges for the most of case it’s easiest to buy a roll of iron-on edging strip, to be applied to the edge before definitive cabinet assembly
-Standard fitting diameters for cnc is 5mm, with Euro screw but some fitting are only screwed
– For DXF shape must be in closed PolyLigne

Also… I want to draw a cabinet that is a quarter of a cylinder. (Like a big piece of cheese!) Straight sides 455mm deep. I tried importing a dxf, but I think my program is not good. Polyboard didn’t recognise the format. Any chance you could give me a dxf file of a quarter of a circle, so I can try it, please?

Thanks. Using the sub method, of course, makes things much quicker!
How do I add a left side upper strip to my cabinet please?
I’m not a kitchen installer, I’m just designing my own cabinets. Can you explain to me how edging works please? For just one kitchen, perhaps it’s easiest to buy a roll of iron-on edging strip? If I use Polyboard for edging, do I buy the edging as a sheet material? For my wine rack, for example, will Polyboard specify separate strips of edging for each shelf and vertical, or does it specify a single sheet with the holes for the wine rack cut out of it?
My next task is to add pilot holes for pull-out racks and drawers. My doors and drawer-fronts are upcycled from old timber furniture, so they are not standard sizes. I’ve found hardware I think is suitable to attach them onto. Should I add pilot holes using Polyboard’s Inner Tooling feature? Is there a typical size of pilot hole that suits CNC machines?
Thanks
Stuart

Hi,
You can use Division Sub-Method,
For this I have create new element, “Grooved Shelf”
Hope that’s helpful, Alex

I’m trying to set up a sub method to make all shelves have no fittings with a 5 mm groove. I can do it manually on each shelf, by setting their links to underpassing with a 5mm groove, (example attached), but I can’t work out how to set up a sub method to make this happen automatically. Could you show me how, please?

Hi,
Hi there,
A groove assembly would be much easier in the software than a half-joint assembly,
The rule in joinery is 2/3 1/3 of the thickness,
In this case, glued grooves 5mm deep would be perfectly suitable, and face to face as well.
Given the depth of the shelves, 2 D6 glued dowels are sufficient for 150mm boxes.
And if you want to use dowels everywhere, just add one every 200m (max 300mm).
(On a 600mm long shelf with 9 dowels, you can easily fit a 40/50kg oven).
BUT if your 15 mm shelves are longer than 600 mm, you need to reinforce them, otherwise they will inevitably warp in a few weeks.
I hope this helps, Alex
