Hi there,

In principle, you can only have single set of files per month

Here is a reedition for the delay on this request

All the best, Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks.  With apologies, one more go please!

I have made a small change to length of the third flight.  This should be the final version.

Thanks in advance

Paul

Hi Alex,

Thanks for that!   I attach a new file, revised as follows:

1. Cut strings are now 100mm wide (all of them will be fixed to a wall).  Stringboard 2 (the lowest one) shows a cut-out necessary to get over an existing balustrade.  I hope that this works?  I think so because there is still at least 100mm under the steps & behind the risers at all points.  I think that it may be best if the machined piece is complete and we do the cut-out on site to get the best fit.  Does that make sense?

2. Penetration of the treads and risers into the closed stringboards is now 12mm.

3. Vertical off-set of the risers (into the grooves on the underside of the treads) is now 5mm, as per BWF design guide.

4. Mortice and tenon joints between the stringboards and the newels.  Tenons are 45mm long, except where they need to be shorter because two tenons are into the same newel.  At newel 2, the depth of the tenons on R stringboards 2 and 3 has been adjusted (not their length) to avoid overlap.

5.  I haven’t provided for joints between the handrails and the newels because the handrails are dummies in this design anyway.

Does all that work now?

All the best

Paul

Hi there,

A few important remarks before continuing,

>The width of the Cut String is not sufficient, it should be at least 100 mm if it is fixed to the wall, and 200 mm if it is self-supporting (external stringboards 2-3-4).

>There is no penetration of the steps into the stringers.

Cheers, Alex

Hi there,

Could I please have a StairFile for this design (attached)?  I think that I have included everything, but please let me know if I have missed anything or if anything doesn’t work / doesn’t make sense.

All the best

Paul

I have now attached sketches and a note explaining the design.
