Michael

We’ll go with your drawing the one with the diamond newel posts. can you reduce the size of the diamond posts, where the inner corner shows a dimension of 30mm could this be 0mm

I’m attaching a sketch for you – this would make it easier for us to make the newel posts.

We cant see where the dimension are different from the ground floor stairs, if they are different can you set them same as the ground floor stairs please?

could you advise where the measurements are different  for us to learn where to check – as we can’t see where they are different

Many thanks

Regards

Hi Dominic,

No problem laugh

No the top stair. As there are irregular angles I propose a solution to use diamond tip newels. ( top-stair_V2A). These are more tricky to manufacture but they will allow the manufacturing of the stringboards and handrail ends to be straight.  With regular newels, you have angled parts all over the place. Please check as you have to decide on this. I set these newels to a 70/30 size.

Also, check if all parts have the correct thickness as they are different from the ground-floor stair.

regards

Hi Dominique

Ok, so you need the riser to fall behind the step until the bottom of it. This is also the best way to do it. Wedging is possible and needs to be activated. The standard wedging angle is 4° which you can change. This version is to be screwed from the back of the stringer and is the better way to handle it. Wedging is mostly used in spaces where you build up the stair on-site between walls. Also, the underside of the stair needs to be hidden from view as the wedging method is not aesthetic.

Sending documents needs to be correct as we do not resend them if there are errors on them. So it is important for you to check and be sure it is correct.

Here are the documents for the ground floor with corrected ricers

Regards,

Michel

Michael

Just to say that as we are new users of stair design so any changes you think are best or are needed on any of our stair files please proceed and make changes accordingly as we will go with your expertise and advice

we would always like the riser to be flush with the bottom of the step at the back or a little lower

do you allow for wedging steps into position or do you screw them?

Many thanks

Regards

That is fine, how soon can you send the files and documents?

I’ve have staff waiting to manufacture and fit each of the stairs as soon as possible

Hi Dominic,

Ok, I did some final changes on the groundfloor stair. If OK for you I will send the documents after your approval.

I changed the shape of your stringboard for a better look

I set the riser to enter the lower step by 10mm and also into the bottom of the step by 10mm

Confirm if ok for you

Hi Michael

I have paid for an extra 2 stairs, Crystal (Wood Designer Team) was to email you to let you know that we have 3 stairs paid for in total

The two stairs that you looked at this morning

  1. House stairs ground floor
  2. top stairs

also

3. Stairs 2 that you looked at on 15/04/21 and we made the changes and sent back to you 2.03pm on the 19/04/21

If you could do the House Stairs Ground Floor first that would be great

We can send the files again to you if you need them

Many thanks

Dominic

Hi Dominic,

I see only 2 stairs in total. Where is the third one? Also, you know that the stairfile service allows 1 set of documents per month. So I can process 1 stair per month for free.

Which is the first stair you want documents for?

regards
