Hi Dominique,

Here are the files for the third stair. After a few corrections in the step windings. It is good advice to always check the step penetration in the newels and stringboards by going to the view menu “steps”. There you can see how the penetration is done technically with the other elements. Sometimes a small position correction is needed to have an optimal connection.

Have a nice build and send pictures if possible

regards,

Michel

Hi Michael

Yes I understand that all parameters etc should be right before sending you the file for documents

Just under pressure to get the three stairs made and getting to understand and learn this software

really appreciate all your help and understanding.

I tried to make changes to the drawing you sent back to close the gap between the top step and the landing without any sucess

I have gone back over the original stair2 file and made changes to parameters which has the last step and the landing that is needed.

I hope all is okay with it but please let me know if you notice any error that I might have made.

again thanks for all your help which has taught me a lot and hopefully I will improve my knowledge and skills on the software

Regards

Dominic

Hi Dominic

you have to check your parameters. I cannot tell what you want as per example the step thickness is 26mm and the riser is 20 mm.

You have to look if all parts have the correct settings for the material you are using.

So please check your stair before asking for documents

also the measurement of your stair. You have to be sure you have the correct flight lengths so that your stair fits the stairhole.

About the gap until where does it needs to be closed . Is the landingstep part of the stair or not ??  I need to get clear details in order to provide correct information.

About the 3 pieces for the stringboard . It is possibl that sd cuts the stringers in a max length per piece.  Is this a wall mounted stringer?  This is not working for selfsupportin stringboards

Michael

were the parameters not okay in the previous stair2 drawing?

don’t understand changes made – would prefer the original parameters unless error somewhere

also there is a gap between the top step and the landing at the stringboard on the drawing you sent me

My question relating to 3 pieces were to see if it would be possible to run 3 stringboard pieces on the one CNC file?

Regards

your help is invaluable – thanks again

we changed the third and top post to the way it will suit us best.

attaching a screenshot for your information

when we are machining how can we put 3 small pieces approx  1 meter long on a 3.5 meter long approx piece

Hi Dominique

Indeed it is better to have it at 0. Change done

Here is a screen copy of stairdesigner. On the right side, the properties screen is your guide for setting parameters.

Yellow are the different elements green is the links parameters section. There you can set the way parts are connecting with each other like penetrations.
