Hi Reodor,

The post doesn’t have to go down to the floor you can adjust its height as you want by using the Base height from ground parameter in the Newel Post dialogue box:

All the best,

PS: If you need me to do this for you or a complete revision of your project please consider using our StairFile Pro service.

Thanks, Can we take away the wood that goes to the floor?

Or is it necessary and keep stairs.

Hi Reodor,

Do you mean 40mm for all parts?

This would work for the steps and strings, but the riser should be from 15 to 20mm.

What section do you want for the posts?

I suggest you go through the parameters of all the parts, set the thicknesses, and change the design to what you need then post the final project here to get your working documents.

all the best

Hi Reodor,

This design should work for your stair.

You will have to set up your materials to the thickness and sections according to what wood you have available.

All the best,

Ness

I think 40mm.

Hi Reodor,

Can you post a few photos of your stair well?

Ness

All outer surfaces are against the wall, Want poles and railings in the middle of the stairs. which dimension is used on poles 4″x4″ ?

This is in an old house so the measurement does not match the current standard,But want and get this as close current requirements.
