Help with a few things|Page 7|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER
Thanks for the prompt reply Ness, I have attached a couple of photos showing drawers located on the inside of a cabinet. I hope this helps you understand what I mean.
With the drawer runners I know all the dimensions required to build the drawers so maybe I could draw this and it would help?
eg, if the carcase of the base unit say is 600mm wide externally then the drawer box width externally would be
600 – 18mm -18mm (for the 2 carcase sides) -13mm – 13mm for the drawer runner spacing = 538mm wide drawer box.
Actually I cant upload any images as its saying the file sizes are too large but they are small and should be fine?!

Hi Jimbo,
Thanks for your question.
Setting up drawer sliders is possible with Polyboard but requires a little thinking out.
As Polyboard can not link the drawer side to the cabinet side you have to link the drawer side to the draw front and the front to the cabinet side. This video gives an over view of how to setup drawer sliders.

On the other hand I’m not sure that I understand your exact problem with the cutting lists.
In general the hardware manufacturer will provide the exact clearance and sizing necessary to set up the drawer sizes in Polyboard.
Using the manufacturer’s specs to setup the Polyboard parameters will ensure that all cutting lists and final dims are just right for your hardware. For the Blum sliders you can even set up the back notch and holes positions on the parts drawings so that you can drill before assembling, which can make things a bit easier.
If you want us to set you up the hard ware send me the exact model and documentation and I’ll see what we can do.
For the drawer behind the doors, I’m not sure what you need.
Can you send me a photo or sketch of what you want to do so I get a better idea?
Thanks for posting,
All the best,
Ness
Hi Jim
I would very much like the same as both of your ideas. I have not yet designed drawers on polyboard but the blum tandem
ones are the ones that I intend to use in many future projects. Also the inset ones behind the doors are also necessary for me.
Ive been running scared and not had enough time to get something set up but having a template drawer that you could just drop in
a project would be very helpful. Ive requested this to Ness in the past and I think it is something on his to do list.

Hi I have several specific things I’m trying to do which I would like help with if possible please guys!
As I’m a small shop and dont automate any of the construction I’m not concerned with hole drilling and fixings as such however the types of fixings used does impact on the cutting list, as such I would like to do the following.
1. set up a drawer and save it in the cab file that has the correct sizing/cutting for use with blum tandem blumotion drawer slides, these are the hidden unermount type.
2. as above but for inset drawers behind a door so there needs to be a recessed spacer fillet to allow for euro style blum hinges.
Is this possible?
Many thanks
Jimbo.
